Winemaker's Notes 2021 Coombsville
“Coombsville, sitting atop a collapsed caldera in the southern mouth of the Napa Valley, while exceedingly dry and acidic because of the lasting drought, was harvested after Mt. Veeder this year. 2021 brought no real distractions of extreme heat or wildfires, and the growth season was a little longer because of the cooling influence of the San Pablo Bay, thus allowing a lengthy ripening season, and producing supreme color and flavor. Although considered ‘Valley Floor’, the fruits produced from this AVA are anything but normal, and will stand up in balance and complexity to any Mountain vineyard wines. The silver lining to drought: Extraordinary quality and intensity. Enjoy!”
